A New Niche for the Stitch

A lot of times when people try to move crocheting over into other mediums such as jewelry, it turns me off. I'm not sure why, but I usually consider crochet to be an art for scarves and clothing, blankets and pillows.

Nadene is one of those rare artists that's
the exception to this rule.

She first caught my eye when I wandered across the piece pictured in this blog post, entitled "Driftwood". The piece and it's careful precision and blend of colors caught my eye and drew me in. Her work is an inspiration, in and of itself.

Ocean tides, snowy peaks, and lanes of sakura trees in spring... nature abounds for inspiration in Nadene's beautiful works and it shows in every necklace and bracelet she offers in her shop. And, in time, she plans to expand her shop to include clutches, purses and more.

Nadene has over 15 years experience in crochet design, knitting, and sewing and it shows in the flawless quality of the pieces in her shop. She even does custom orders!

I love that piece. I love crocheting circles in my work as well. The choices she has made with color and symmetry are outstanding!

I agree, I don't usually care for items crocheted that I think "shouldn't" be- like jewelry- but this necklace is beautiful!

Thank you so much for featuring my work! This style of crochet is new for me to actually produce, but has been brewing in my mind for some time. I love that the shapes are a joy to make as well as to wear--my favorite kind of art. :)
