Look What I Bought - Lovely Jewelry with an Attention to Detail

Eagleswings Boutique on EtsyToday I'm introducing you to another of the newer shops on Etsy. This one was opened just last month and is doing very well on sales so far... and no wonder! Even I bought a piece from them.

I bought this lovely turquoise bracelet that you see pictured here in this post and, I have to say, it's even more beautiful in person than it was in the picture in her shop (or this picture too for that matter). When I received the bracelet, I was very impressed with the attention to detail and care in workmanship. The bracelet is absolutely lovely from start to finish and I'm very happy with it.

Ellie at Eagleswings Boutique on Etsy has a number of these bracelets in different colors and designs and I can't help but be tempted to get another.

For those of my readers who also craft and do their own jewelry design, Eagleswings Boutique also offers a variety of findings, beads and tools at excellent prices. So whether you're looking for the finished product or you're looking for a few supplies, be sure to stop by and take a peek!

Tatting ~ Not Just for Grandma Anymore

Totus Mel Tats on EtsyMy great-grandmother used to do tatting, which if you don't know, is a technique used to make lace.

The lace is designed by a series of delicate, intricate knots and loops and the end result is both beautiful and elegant as well as usually durable.

I have many hand-me-downs from my great-grandmother and many of them are bits of tatting but until I came across today's shop I never really realized just how very spectacular tatting could fit into today's world and fashions.

Such beautiful craftsmanship should be living on through the generations but like many of the craftsman and artisan talents and styles of the past, in our fast paced lives it seems that such unique and time consuming skills have gone to the way-side or been farmed out to factories.

Totus Mel Tats on Etsy is helping to breathe new life into this beautiful form of artisan craft and has shone a whole new light on this art that, over the years and like so many others, has quickly and very sadly come to near-extinction.

Pamela Quevedo is the artisan behind these beautiful
Totus Mel Tats on Etsyworks and although her style leans towards the dark, gothic, steampunk and Neo Victorian, there is no doubt that her pieces can (and will) appeal to a much wider audience.

From intricate masquerade masks to lace spats, jewelry
and more, Pamela's shop has some breathtaking pieces that are beautifully photographed and unique beyond words. In fact, I'm particularly infatuated with the collar necklaces like the one pictured above which come in a number of styles both in wedding white and Gothic black.

If you're shopping for that perfect gift for either a gothic chic, a fashion forward fashionista with an eye for detail or even some wedding accessories that are sure to catch the eye this is definitely the shop for you. You won't want to miss taking a browse through what Totus Mel Tats has to offer.

I Wanna Wear It! ~ As You Like It on Etsy

Yep, you heard me right. I wanna wear it!

The picture you see here is actually a canvas painting, but when I went into today's shop for the first time, my first instinct and urge was
that I wanted to -wear- this piece.

I mean... it's just gorgeous!
It As You Like It on Etsy by DiCarloswould look spectacular wrapped up in my hair or curled at my hips in a drape or skirt. Or as a bandeau shirt curled lovingly around my torso.

Not to mention that the necklace pictured below from the exact same shop would fit perfect with the outfit I've built in my mind around this painting.

I mean, talk about being inspiring!

I really, really like this design and I can guarantee that if it was made in a large scarf or a piece of fabric that I'd have snatched it up without a second thought.

The shop that houses both of these beautiful items is "As You Like It" on Etsy by DiCarlos.

Stephanie, the talented artist behind these pieces, is filled with creative juices that she stirs vigorously into a number of different artistic venues. These include paintings and jewelry, as seen here on this blog, as well as a variety of wonderful cards and prints.

As You Like It on Etsy by DiCarlosAs a school teacher in northern Massachusetts, I can't imagine how she has time to make such beautiful pieces but she has not one shop, but TWO!

As You Like It by DiCarlos is filled with colorful jewelry, amazing prints and paintings.

Stephanie's other shop, Unexpected Knock (the name is inspired by the poetry of Emily Dickensen) has an entirely different flavor with a slightly more formal feel with a collection of clean, crisp designed poetry-inspired cards and artwork.

Both shops are relatively new, one opening in April of this year and the other in June, but you won't be disappointed by what you find there so be sure to stop by and visit!

Flora for all Occasions ~ Jewelry and Landscaping

Licia Beads on EtsySince I'm a jewelry artisan... and I sell jewelry on Etsy, some would say that it's counter-productive for me to write about other jewelry artisans in the handmade community. But, the fact is, even above being a jewelry artisan, I'm a jewelry connoisseur.

I like jewelry.... to be completely honest, I LOVE jewelry. So when I come across someone as talented as today's artisan, I have to take a minute to admire.

Beautiful pieces. Quality craftsmanship. Spectacular vision. Licia Beads on Etsy has all of this and more.

This shop is filled with unique handmade jewelry from bridal pieces to everyday classics in pearls and gemstones. Each piece is colorfully beaded and some of the styles range from the free-spirited gypsy look to a few that are downright humorous.

Licia is an extremely talented woman in Licia Beads on Etsymore ways than one. She also owns and runs a landscaping company, Ginkgo Landscape Design in Mukilteo, WA (20 miles north of Seattle) which is not far from where I live.

Between her shop and her business in landscaping I see someone who has a true love and passion for nature and flora and it's reflected in nearly every piece of jewelry in her shop.

I can't express enough the admiration I have for this woman and her shop as well as, for that matter, her landscape designs.

I encourage you to visit her shop as well as her landscape business page (linked above) and take a look through her shop! If you love nature as much as I do, you're sure to enjoy the browse.
