Wine Art Wednesdays and the Sober Blogger

I ran across a shop the other day that was so much fun that I had to share it with you.

The shop is WineArtWednesdays on Etsy and they have one of the most fun shops I've seen in a long time.

The concept behind this shop is simple. A group of seven friends and artists get together once a week to enjoy a little gossip, wine, slow food, and art every Wednesday evening!

Over an evening of delicious food, good wine and a night of gossip, Alex Whatton, Audrey Grice, Denise Lohr, Jen Lamie, Joan Pilarczyk, Naty Carter and Rita Paradis paint the night away and then share their completed pieces in this wonderful shop!

There are seasonal pieces and more, all gathered together to create a shop full of color and creativity that is filled with love and fun that overflows and comes through in every piece you'll find in this gallery of friends.

YOU CAN CLICK ON THE PICTURE ABOVE TO VISIT THE WINE ART WEDNESDAYS GALLERY ON ETSY AND TAKE A LOOK AROUND OR, IF YOU PREFER, YOU CAN CLICK RIGHT HERE.

If you like what you see in the WineArtWednesdays shop, you may also enjoy visiting the Wine Art Wednesdays and the Sober Blogger blog where the artists occasionally blog about their work, their time together as well as sharing promotional codes from time to time!

Monday Morning Mosaic

Little people need love too! Today's mosaic is inspired by my mother's collection of beautiful dolls.

As a little girl, I loved to try and sneak in and play with her art dolls and collectors dolls. Not a good idea, of course, but I just loved them all so much and insisted that they needed that love just as much as the dolls I was allowed to play with however I wanted.

Shroompers - Miniature Dolls with Gigantic Personalities
Shroompers on Etsy
Charlotte Kolff and Damon Langlois from Victoria, British Columbia

I LOVE this shop and I can't describe these dolls any better than their creator: Creativity and imagination are critical for the wholesome development of young children. Shroompers are intentionally simple in design with neutral expressions in order to encourage children to project mood and emotion into the dolls themselves. They imply a world and a story but don’t complete it, letting the imagination fill in the rest.

Joelle's Dolls - OOAK Art Dolls & Handmade Cloth Dolls
joellemcandrew on Etsy
Joelle McAndrew from Syracuse, New York

One-of-a-kind handcrafted art dolls and handmade cloth dolls for children populate this shop. There are collectible dolls, princesses and ballerinas, bride dolls and grooms, pirate dolls, guy dolls as well as handmade baby dolls, mini pocket pal dolls, and cats and dogs all available for adoption and waiting for some love.

Art of Felting by Daria Lvovsky
darialvovsky on Etsy
Daria Lvovsky from Rehovot, Central, Israel

From needle felted Waldorf Christmas ornaments and needle felted tapestries to adorable animals, fairies and more... this shop is filled with love and wool. Daria Lvovsky makes art dolls and children's toys felted from wool which include animals, Waldorf-like people and gnomes, mystical creatures, owls, flying pigs, bunnies and more.

Zime - OOAK Dolls, Illustrations, Jewelry, ACEOs and Love
Zime on Etsy
Ximena Carreira from Buenos Aires, Argentina

Although art dolls aren't the only thing that Zime has to offer, it's what first drew me into this wonderful shop filled with beautiful illustrations, jewelry, ACEO prints and, of course, colorful hand-painted art dolls filled with love and creativity from the fingertips of this freelance graphic designer and children illustrator.

The handmade marketplace and the talented artisans you'll find there are a terrific alternative to commercial products and with the added bonus of personalized care and an attention to detail and quality that commercial products lack.

When shopping for toys for your children or art dolls and other collectable items to add to your collection don't forget to browse through artisan works and see what you can find, you'll be surprised at just how much creativity, originality and quality is out there!

Monday Morning Mosaics

I'd love to introduce you to a new tradition here on the Meandering Musings.... Monday Morning Mosaics! Each Monday we're going to begin introducing our readers to a handful of creative people following a theme for the day.

Today's theme is Australian artists! Australia is a country that when I was growing up I imagined as a magical land filled with mystery and unique but crazy differences from weather to wildlife and more. They have unique animals and insects there that you can't find anywhere else in the entire world.

Roocci - Australian Art that Smiles!

Tanya Roocci from Sydney, Australia

This artist creates beautiful and cheerful artwork for children's rooms depicting lots of color and native creatures of Australia with wide eyes and tons of cuteness. From artwork prints to acrylic original paintings, there's lots to browse through that's sure to make you smile.

TairaVora - Colorful Photo Art from Australia

Taira Vora from Canberra, Australia

Gorgeous and colorful, Tiara Vora's photography is filled with nature's themes with an often remarkable geometric quality that have been mounted on wooden blocks for a unique display. The artist is attracted to patterns and colors in everyday ordinary objects and strives with her photography to give them a new look.

LeniKai - Leni Kae Designs, Australia

Leni Kai from Sydney, Australia

Contemporary artwork with graceful forms combined with bold color is what this artist's work entails. A trained color therapist, this artist combines her creative talents with semiotics and color psychology to produce vivid and beautiful pieces of art with powerful subconscious and sensual triggers.

ArtVineAustralia - Naturally Raw And Organic Art

Art Vine Australia from Melbourne, Australia

Art that lives and breathes and is a celebration of life and rejuvenation. The art in this artist's shop is inspired by the simple things in life that often go unnoticed. Raw and organic, it's created using all-natural fibers and pigments derived from Earth's soil and carbon minerals mixed together with plant tints and stains.

I know it's not morning anymore but I hope you enjoyed this tour through a few of Australia's amazing artists. If you like what you see or enjoyed this feature, please take a minute to let me know in comments!

The Art of Nidhi Chanani

Nidhi Chanani on EtsyToday's shop is filled with beautiful artwork depicting loving moments in life with family and other loved ones.

Nidhi Chanani on Etsy is a California-raised Indian-American artist who loves creating art for the pure and simple reason that it makes her happy.

Artwork for Hope and Charity

Today I'd like the opportunity to introduce you to a shop ran by a small woman with an especially big heart.

Although Kate, the artisan behind OnBehalfOf on Etsy, proclaims herself not to be a professional artist, her artwork is truly beautiful.

Kate believes in using beauty to fight back against the ugliness in our world. She uses her artwork and creations to help fight back against forces of injustice through selfless love. Ninety percent of the proceeds from each item that's sold in Kate's shop are donated to organizations that help to provide clean water in developing countries, free modern day slaves, care for orphans and provide medical help to those with HIV. Her shop and her efforts towards it were created on behalf of these people that need our help.

Through her art, Kate has started a mission to spread hope and help throughout the world and her artwork is a glowing beacon of that hope shared with everyone who sees it. Filled with vibrant colors and an ethnic style, these pieces are sure to catch the attention and inspiration of all who see them.

Photomontages, Digital Collages and Painted Photography by Lyse

ImagineStudio on EtsyToday I'd like to introduce you to a shop that's filled with fantasy, whimsy and, most of all, beautiful images. Tons and tons of beautiful images filled with mystery and imagination.

ImagineStudio on Etsy is a shop that offers much more than just regular photography.

This shop is filled with Fine Art Giclee prints of a variety of photomontages, digital collages and painted photographs all from the mind of an amazing artist from Montreal, Quebec in Canada.

The artist, Lyse, is full of love and emotion and expresses both through her work, communicating her romantic nature and her emotions into each piece that is then, when finished, offered in her shop.

Lyse has a variety of art to offer as well, from landscapes (like the one above that I fell in love with) to portraits, nudes and print sets as well as a wonderful collection of flights of fancy and other works.

The artwork is fascinating and you'll love a browse through what I consider to be her gallery. You're sure to find many that you just have to click on to get a better look at and many that will take your breath away as well.

I Wanna Wear It! ~ As You Like It on Etsy

Yep, you heard me right. I wanna wear it!

The picture you see here is actually a canvas painting, but when I went into today's shop for the first time, my first instinct and urge was
that I wanted to -wear- this piece.

I mean... it's just gorgeous!
It As You Like It on Etsy by DiCarloswould look spectacular wrapped up in my hair or curled at my hips in a drape or skirt. Or as a bandeau shirt curled lovingly around my torso.

Not to mention that the necklace pictured below from the exact same shop would fit perfect with the outfit I've built in my mind around this painting.

I mean, talk about being inspiring!

I really, really like this design and I can guarantee that if it was made in a large scarf or a piece of fabric that I'd have snatched it up without a second thought.

The shop that houses both of these beautiful items is "As You Like It" on Etsy by DiCarlos.

Stephanie, the talented artist behind these pieces, is filled with creative juices that she stirs vigorously into a number of different artistic venues. These include paintings and jewelry, as seen here on this blog, as well as a variety of wonderful cards and prints.

As You Like It on Etsy by DiCarlosAs a school teacher in northern Massachusetts, I can't imagine how she has time to make such beautiful pieces but she has not one shop, but TWO!

As You Like It by DiCarlos is filled with colorful jewelry, amazing prints and paintings.

Stephanie's other shop, Unexpected Knock (the name is inspired by the poetry of Emily Dickensen) has an entirely different flavor with a slightly more formal feel with a collection of clean, crisp designed poetry-inspired cards and artwork.

Both shops are relatively new, one opening in April of this year and the other in June, but you won't be disappointed by what you find there so be sure to stop by and visit!

YOU CAN CLICK ON THE PICTURES ABOVE TO VISIT "AS YOU LIKE IT" ON ETSY AND TAKE A LOOK AROUND OR, IF YOU PREFER, CLICK RIGHT HERE. I ALSO ENCOURAGE YOU TO STOP BY THE "UNEXPECTED KNOCK" ON ETSY AS WELL!

Lampwork Art ~ Encapsulating Life within Glass

When I first came across today's shop, I was fascinated. First, by the piece featured here in this post. And then, when I followed the link that took me into their shop, that fascination grew with the first glance at the many other amazing pieces they have for sale as well.

I love lampwork. I've been a big fan of fire since I was a wee little thing, and the fact that you can use fire to mold and shape glass into such unique and amazing pieces of art as is possible in lampwork artistry? It's just breathtaking to me and extremely inspiring.

I also love going into a shop online and feel as if I've stepped into an artist's museum exhibition.

Vonbeads Glass Gallery accomplishes this with flare and beauty both.

Each piece in their gallery is like a tiny world encapsulated in a bubble of glass and seems almost alive within their dreamy ensconced worlds beneath each bubble. Looking at this pieces is like a peek into those dreamy other dimensions.

I've spent well over an hour or more in their shop just enjoying the artwork within, and I'm sure you'll be fascinated too, so go take a look!

Watercolors, Pastels, Oil Paintings and More

Every once in a while I have to revisit some of my absolute favorite themes and today's post is all about color, my favorite theme of all and the one that my own handmade creations lean towards.

Today's shop is The Garden Room, and as if the name wasn't enough to make this shop rank among the top of my favorites list.

Not only is the name right up my alley but the shop is filled with beautiful, vivid paintings and drawings of flowers and other still art that is just gorgeous.

The artist behind all these beautiful pieces is Patricia Snow, an artist that started out self taught and has since earned a degree in art as well as taken a number of lessons in pursuit of constantly expanding her talents and improving upon her craft. Her artwork comes in a number of different mediums too that really show off her versatility!

In fact, she also sells a bit of jewelry there as well.

I'm particularly impressed with her floral pieces as well as her depictions of birds. They're absolutely remarkable and I think that you'll think so too.

That said, though, there's a number of styles available in her shop and she sells not just original framed pieces, but also prints on note cards, ACEO cards and more!

The shop, as a whole, is a true celebration o nature and you won't want to miss it.

Artwork that's both Unique and Extraordinary

Yesterday was all about Wearable Artwork and today I'm featuring an innovative artist who's artwork you hang on your walls or can get as postcards and mail out to your friends and loved ones.

The Golden Section by YuliyaArt on Etsy contains some of the most original pieces of artwork that I think I've ever seen online or off. It's eclectic, unique, inspiring and absolutely extraordinary!

Yuliya was born and raised in Kiev, the capital of the Ukraine, and she now lives and works in Toronto, Canada

She has two branches to her artwork called Linear Magic and Digital Art and just more recently has started to implement photography into her artwork as well with stunning results.

Linear Magic is a type of artwork created with acrylic paints, ink, golden and other precious metal leafing as well as other items such as Swarovski crystal inlay and paper.

There is an inherent uniqueness of this drawing style because the artist is not using either pencil or a sketch to create an end result, but instead takes paper and ink pen and then starts from a simple dot on the page, then a line and moves on from there so that the artistic piece starts to develop all on its own.

Digital Art, on the other hand, is a part of Yuliya's art where she uses a computer to create, combining different pieces of existence in new ways to come up with something truly unique. She will take items such as eyes, skin, limbs, plants, animals and her imagination and blend them together into beautiful artwork created upon a digital canvas.

No matter which style you prefer, you're sure to be amazed by what you find in her shop so be sure to click on the link below or the picture above in order to take a look around!

Leaving an Audience Breathless - Abstract, Contemporary Artwork

I love art but I'm really, really picky when it comes to abstract art. It's not that I don't like the style, it's more like I think that some people can get a little carried away with the concept.

That said? I found an abstract artist the other day that I just have to share with you because the moment I stepped into their shop, I had my breath literally stolen away with the beauty within.

The artist is Frances Seward.

She is an emerging artist from the U.K. and currently living in New Mexico that specializes in abstract, contemporary landscape photography paintings that are truly remarkable.

As with most art, it's nearly always far more impressive in person than in print an I just can't imagine how entrancing and hypnotizing Seward's work must be in person because the pieces in her shop really catch the eye even over the computer screen.

There are copious amounts of information on Frances Seward and her artwork both in her shop profile as well as on her personal website, and I'm not going to reprint any of it here.

Instead, I'm going to encourage each and every reader to go and visit her gallery on Etsy and see these beautiful, breathtaking works for yourselves. They are truly inspiring, absolutely emotive and, in my opinion, they are the true definition of what abstract art should aspire to be.

So stop by, take a look around and be sure to click on her Profile so you can find out a bit more about not just the beautiful pieces Frances Seward has to offer, but about the artist herself as well.

Modern Art for Every Home... and COLOR!

Yep. I love color. And it was no more evident than when I first ran across today's feature artist. Because other than the fact that I also love trees? It was the vibrancy and color in today's shop that first caught my attention and kept it captive.

Today's feature is about the HJM Art Gallery on Etsy, which is filled with a beautiful collection of wonderful, colorful artwork pieces that are sure to make you smile just as they did me. Especially if you, too, are a fan of color and the grace of nature, trees and swirls.

There's something intriguing about organized chaos, and that's what I came away with from the pieces of artwork in this shop.

The artist, Helen Janow Miqueo, is a relentless perfectionist and romantic that specializes in beautiful, affordable original modern acrylic paintings and Giclee art prints... and that's what's offers in her shop! She even offers the option of commissioning custom pieces that can be made to fit just what you want and need to brighten up your own space or give as a gift for someone else.

Her artwork is truly unique, as is her method for creating that art which you can explore on her shop's artist profile! Helen is a truly inspiring artist who's both creative and passionate about her work, and it shows in every piece she has on display.

Breathtaking Contemporary Artwork, Beautiful Style

I really, really LOVE it when an artist that specializes in prints, paintings and other wall art really goes into showing you how spectacular their work can look in use.

And when you find someone who does it as well as today's artist does? It makes it nearly impossible for me to leave their shop. In fact, I've spent literally hours in today's shop.

Moon Angel Art is filled with beautiful Fine Art Giclee photography paper and canvas prints for home decor, and when you step into her shop to look around, I guarantee you won't be sorry. This shop contains some of the most spectacular nature photography I've ever seen.

The shop also contains a variety of Scrabble tile collage sheets for jewelry making, satin lustre greetings cards on heavy cardstock, photo pendants, 100% Cotton Canvases, art boxes and acrylic perspex prints. Which means there's something for just about everyone! Me personally? I'm a big fan of so many of the works there that I could probably cover ever inch of space on my walls and ceiling and still not have enough!

Naomi, the artist behind all of these beautiful pieces, is a passionate artist, digital artist and photographer inspired by the human form, philosophy, nature, free will and color. Her passion and inspiration shows in every piece in her shop so don't miss out on taking the tour!

This week had a Theme, you know

I must tout about spring again! Yes! I have to. Because I just spent the whole day yesterday outside playing in the dirt, you see. And I feel so rejuvenated by the experience!

Gardening is hard work. Hard, sweaty, dirty work. But you know? It's always so worth it. The fresh air and feel of soil between your fingers is just so recuperating. Like a mini vacation.

That's what I thought of, too, when I first saw Karen Faulkner's watercolor paintings and prints. That wonderful, vibrant feeling of rejuvenation that comes with being outside and bursting feeling of joy as the first flowers begin to bud and bloom.

All of Karen's paintings speak to me so strongly of emotion and joy and a true love for color and nature that it was no surprise to me at all that she paints with her emotions. It's all right there in the artwork.

She uses only professional artist quality pigments too, and acid free, 100% cotton water color paper, so you can be sure that with proper loving care, these pieces are going to last forever.

A Celebration of Color

Today we're celebrating color because today is a "make new things" day in this house! And I can't think of anyone more fitting and perfect to celebrate color with than Cozy Little Cave on Etsy.

This shop is filled to the brim with beautiful, vivid colors and stylish pieces of artwork that are sure to draw the eye and make you smile.

The artist behind all of these wonderful, colorful paintings is Tess Carter. She loves bold color, dynamic design, and a touch of playfulness and it shows in every piece in her shop!

She offers both original paintings and prints as well as encourages people to contact her for custom pieces. (I love artists willing to go custom, it just adds an extra special personal touch.)

Tess started painting to make her own "cave" a little more cozy. Now she hopes to bring warmth and coziness to yours too! I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoy browsing through this shop. It's so fresh and bright and just about perfect. If you love color, you're sure to love it too, so take a look!

Quoth the Raven... Nevermore

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door....

Edgar Allen Poe was one of my absolute favorite
poets when I was growing up. In fact, come to think of it, he still is.

Maybe that's why I like today's piece so much. The first time I saw it, it immediately reminded me of Poe's "The Raven" and it's one of the very first pieces on Etsy that I ended up making a favorite.

This piece is by Kristin Forbes-Mullane, a very talented artist that runs the KFM Gallery on Etsy. She offers original paintings, illustrations, jewelry and more in her shop and the gallery is filled with beautifully unique pieces with true depth to them.

Kristin is a native of Phoenix, AZ and grew up loving anything having to do with art, especially drawing and painting, which she started at a young age. Her love of art was inspired by her father, who, as an artist and graphic designer himself.

These days, she's all about taking beautiful, peaceful images and making them dark and mysterious. Take a browse through her gallery and you'll see that she especially enjoys using religious icons and old family photos as inspiration for many of her pieces to create effective, emotive imagery.

Setting the Scene

Meet Nichole Ashton Atelier, an artist that really knows how to set a scene to show off her art. Just take a look at that living room in the picture for this post and you'll see exactly what I mean.

Is that not one of the most beautiful settings for a painting that you've ever seen? The painting itself? Absolutely gorgeous, of course, and the setting shows it off to absolute perfection.

Nichole's artwork is very diverse, too. And, she does custom orders. She'll paint portraits from photos, landscapes from your color swatches or any idea you may have! All you have to do is ask.

Like her artwork itself, her inspiration comes from many different areas. Everything from things she considers simple beauty to her surroundings in Louisiana and much more!

Darkness, Melancholy and Whimsy

Rustic Goth offers original dark, sad, and surreal paintings, prints, wearable art and art dolls.

The artist's works are a rather sad and surreal and often have a touch of whimsical and weird mixed in. She only sells originals on Etsy, which makes her Etsy shop a terrific find!

I personally find her artwork dreamy and dark and I loved the browse through her shop where she has many different prints to wander through and enjoy. Rustic Goth's work is beautiful and fascinating and I can't stress enough that you should go take a peek for yourself.

She also has a blog where you can keep up to date on current events concerning her art, so be sure to stop by there too!
