We are in the middle of the second week of September. Can you believe it?! And although in my neck of the woods the temperatures are still soaring, Autumn is only 10 days away.

Crochet Creations, Wearables and Accessories Inspired by Nature

As many of my readers already know, I'm a big fan of those with talents at knitting and crochet. But, with that said, I have to admit that's not what first drew me to today's shop. What first drew me to today's shop was the photographs of a cute pixie-like woman wearing a slouching beanie hat and a mischievous smile.

She's gorgeous, and I swear she could sell potato sacks as dresses. Not only that but she looks amazing in hats as well, which makes her the perfect model for today's feature shop.

Talk2theTrees on Etsy is a shop that's filled with hats. All kinds of crocheted hats from pixie hats and beanies to slouches, cloches, animal hats, headbands and more. There's even a handful of jewelry pieces mixed in.

Each hat is beautifully pictured and designed by hand by a very talented artisan from Salt Lake, Utah. And the amazing part? Rachel, the artist behind all of these wonderful creations, doesn't use patterns either. Everything at Talk2thetrees is an original design straight from the artist's own fountain of creativity. And she offers custom work too!

Rachel also has a second shop that offers prints and artwork as well.

Her Tree Talker on Etsy shop is filled with beautiful artwork with the same inspiration as her shop of crocheted items as well as lots of color and a personal style that easily connects both online shops to this very talented artist.

Rachel draws her inspiration from nature and trees to horror art, macabre, Halloween, mushrooms, Asian art, religion, cemeteries, dreams, antique bottles, tarot cards and palm reading.

It's a wide variety of inspiration and her artwork expresses the eclectic mix with beautiful flair and style.

I have personally fallen in love with her big-eyed art pieces like the one featured here in this post titled "Silly Squirrel", but she has a variety of styles to browse through and lots to fall in love with.... in both shops!

Knits aren't just for Winter - CarmenBee on Etsy

I love knit and crochet items and, in the summer, there's really not all that many opportunities to wear them. At least not the conventional styles. Like a good portion of the country, we're in a bit of a heat wave at the moment, after all, and sweaters and scarves really don't help in staying cool.

I'd like to introduce you to another style today that I discovered in Carmen Bee's shop on Etsy.

The summer scarf.

Loosely knit for breathe-ability. Light weight. Colorful. It's perfect!

Scarves like this are fun and flirty and make a great accent for your summer outfits without making you roast beneath the heat of a more densely crocheted design.

This isn't all that CarmenBee offers either. There's knit hats and scarflettes for those below the equator that are getting ready for winter as well as a few crochet baby accessories and even a smattering of jewelry!

Searched and Found... and the Taylor House

Today was supposed to be a feature for the BESTeam, a wonderful team I've mentioned being a member of in the past on Etsy where team members support each other through various means of promotion.

I ran into a little problem tho, because the shop I am to feature is empty at the moment. (And it's a knit/crochet shop too! You all know how much I LOVE knit and crochet shops.)

I would like to mention that although the Taylor House on Etsy is currently closed for the season until cooler weather gets here, you can still take a peek and a browse at some of their sold items to see what they'll have to offer once the fall and winter season rolls around.

Still, closed as they are at the moment, I thought I'd introduce you to the blog founded by Chaucee, the artisan behind the knitted and crocheted pieces from the Tailor House shop on Etsy.

The Searched and Found is a blog that's much like this one, with a wide selection of features outlining different handmade artists and artisans you can find in the handmade market place. Hemp, Dreads, Color and Africa Inspired Textiles

Usually when I feature those who crochet, it's the talent that I'm featuring with a bit of a highlight on the style as well. Today, I want to point out the style of some pieces I found on Etsy that I'm very partial to.

The talent is, without a doubt, superb... but what really caught my eye? It was how these pieces are worn.

Do you see in the picture how the slouch cap that the model is wearing helps to accentuate the curve of her neck and shoulder? I find how certain styles can do something like that absolutely remarkable and I've always been attracted to this style of knit hat and cap for this exact reason.

When I ran across Arliaflower's shop on Etsy, I was charmed immediately not just by the style of her items but by the use of color as well! Bold, beautiful colors fill her shop and are beautifully photographed to show them to their advantage.

Arliaflower's shop is filled with a fusion of handmade, crochet, stitched and macramed goods created from home or as she travels and learns from other artisans.

She has hemp jewelry and crochet tams and headbands (which are currently on sale at 1/2 price by the way!) as well as dreadwear, headwear, hats, arm and leg warmers, scarves and much more to look through.

The creative artist behind Arliaflower is Hannah, who specializes in crochet dreadlock tams and headbands. She's been making these for about three years before more recently beginning to a variety of her handmade jewelry, clothing and other items as well.

She has a passion for traditional costume, handmade fabrics (batiks, block prints, tye dyes etc) natural fibers and recycling which she does through collecting and using locally made materials from the different places she travels.

Crocheted Lovelies and the I Want reflex

Let's talk a minute about the "I want" reflex. We all have it. That moment when you just can't do without something and your impulse by overrides nearly all common sense. Some are more susceptible to it than others and I'm one of those. In fact, I often use this blog to curve those desires before they make me completely broke.

Today's shop inspired my "I want" reflex so intensely that I just can't seem to banish it, and I've returned to Third Eye Artisans' shop repeatedly since discovering it a my temptation grows and grows.

Third Eye Artisans is a shop filled with beautiful crocheted goodies that are gorgeous in both color and style. They offer everything from cowls, scarves, shawls and hats to baby blankets, afghans and even bookmarks and Julie, the artist behind these creations, has an absolutely wonderful eye for color and style.

Julie is one of those people that has a true passion for yarn and loves to experiment and the results are the incorporation of that love and passion into every single item she makes.

Baby Booties for Cuties and Much More!

I have a big passion for all things knit and crochet, which is something I've mentioned in the past on this blog and am sure to mention again sometime in the future.

Today's shop is a shop filled with Fashion knit and crochet items such as hats for kids and adults, baby booties, mittens, socks and more.

I especially fell for the booties pictured in this post. I really love the colors used in them and... well they're just so cute! In fact, Ira Rott's has a lot of really cute booties offered in their shop, in a number of styles. They're all quality made, extremely cute as well as practical with double soles for both stability and comfort.

A Lesson in Presentation

You know, the first time I saw these on display in a picture, it was just a set of cuffs sitting on a table, and I puzzled. I had one of those, "ummmmm, okay?" moments. I just didn't get it.

Then I saw this picture and that great big light bulb in my brain clicked on! NOW I get it! And I LOVE it.

Which just goes to show... sometimes you have to show a product being used in order for your customers to "get it".

Ruffle cuffs is a good example of this because they look absolutely awesome worn, but not so intriguing or interesting all by themselves sitting on a table. NOW? I want a pair!

So what's the wonderful shop that turned me on to this very cool style? It's Crochex on Etsy. This shop is relatively small but definitely worth visiting and you won't want to miss it!

Their prices are reasonable and their items are absolutely terrific. They carry a wide variety of items from little cozies to amigurumi animals (VERY cute) and fingerless gloves to wrist cuffs.

A Bit of This and That

Morning! Today's shop, Our Home to Yours, is a brand new shop that's only been on Etsy since the beginning of January! I was introduced to this shop by the BEST (Boosting Etsy Shops Team) of which we're a member!

Our Home to Yours is a mother and daughter team that are offering a variety of Amigurumi kit dolls, vintage items, photo prints and a variety of other home decor items, jewelry and more. Debbi, the matriarch and crafter, is a collector and finder of cool vintage merchandise while Amanda, the daughter and artist, has delved into the world of crochet.

I, personally, am particularly fond of the little Amigurumi dolls they have in their shop, especially the little bunny with floppy lop ears and little button eyes. Go take a peek for yourself!

It's a scarf. No, wait! It's a necklace.

I really love these. I think they're a really innovative and colorful idea for dressing up an outfit, and since I love wearing scarves, you can imagine that I think a crocheted necklace that has a very similar "look" would be right up my alley.

Today's shop has lots of these, too, in a wide variety of colors which, for me, is another huge plus because I'm all about color.

Today's featured artisan, the wonderful woman that makes these beautiful creations and many more crocheted items that are sold in her Etsy shop, is Laci from ZigZags123.

Laci is a full time mom of three who somehow also finds the time to create all of these beautiful pieces and run her shop on Etsy as well. Her shop is filled with hats, pincushions, hair bows, crocheted necklaces in a number of different colors and styles as well as a variety of other items to browse through. Turning Chaos into Harmony

In today's feature shop, they state they're "The best selection of Irish Crochet jewelry and gifts on Etsy." And you can believe it too! I can honestly say I've never seen anything like the intricate, beautiful pieces this shop contains anywhere else on Etsy. I do a LOT of browsing on Etsy, too!

As Emily says in her profile, Whether it's beading, crocheting, knitting or sewing, it all has one thing in common, the thread that holds it all together.

I mean, sure, there's lots of knitters, crocheters and tatters out there. That goes without saying. But it's not often you find the ones that have stamped their own personal style and appeal on ever piece they make. That in itself is a rare art and it makes each and everyone of their pieces a unique piece of art.

In Nothingbutstring's shop you'll be sure to find lots of these unique pieces and designs for both you and your home's decor. Emily's work is something you really don't want to miss, and I admit that I, myself, have my eye on a few pieces in her shop that I'd love to have for myself.

A Fuzzy Friend Named POOF!

The first time I came across today's shop, my first reaction was a soft, warm and gushy "Awwwwww!" complete with a sappy little smile.

When I was little, my mom had a little stuffed animal named Poof. In fact, I think she still has him. If I remember correctly, someone gave it to her when I was born, and it was the cutest little thing I'd ever seen.

The little felted animals sold in Felted Friends on Etsy remind me of Poof. Cute and small and just about perfect.

FeltedFriends offers handmade felted creations and children's sweaters. Each and every one of them is an original work of art made by Frances, a self-professed compulsive knitter that's been selling on Etsy since 2008.

All items in Felted Friends are hand knit by Frances in a smoke-free environment and the shop even offers custom work!

Kate Andreasen is a student at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, and she hopes to one day own and run her own boutique.

Betti started a year ago with just a few simple beanie hats, and a few ideas. Now, just a year later, it has grown more than Kate has ever expected an she is now always busy with custom orders as well as pushing herself to come up with new products and styles.
