Polymer Clay in Jewelry Design - An Etsy BESTeam Feature

Whew!! Blogger/Blogspot malfunction is now under control and we're back to your regularly scheduled program!

I have a friend who would love this pin. She has a thing for masks, and she's often expressed a fascination with the Easter Island statues that this little brooch pin is made to resemble.

The pin is from the shop of one of my BESTeam Etsy Team members, Cassandra from Ardna's Sac Etsy shop. Her shop contains a collection of polymer clay tidbits like this pin and other creative works along with a bit of jewelry, some button art and other tidbits.

Cassandra is an old-hand when it comes to polymer clay work and her initial experiences pre-date the "New Clay" by Nan Roche.

Her selection in her shop is currently a bit small but I look forward to seeing what else she comes up with and look forward to following her shop's progress. She's a member of the Polymer Clay Artist Guild of Etsy as well as a few other teams as well as a member of the New York Polymer Clay Guild.

A Talented Husband and Wife Team

I took a long weekend! A really nice, wonderfully relaxing long weekend that was just what the doctor ordered. I don't think I've slept so much in my life!

Now that I'm back, I'd love to introduce
you to one of my Etsy BESTeam peers today. The BESTeam is an Etsy team that's dedicated to helping each other promote our handmade products and businesses. Alexanders Designs is a member, just as I am (as Bits n Beads by Gilliauna, of course).

Alexanders Designs is a husband and wife team that work together to create jewelry from Dichroic glass, fused glass, gemstones, crystals and pearls.

They have bracelets, necklaces, earrings and even rings. In fact, Skip Alexander's rings were just recently featured in the Kansas City Star Magazine!

Jenny and Skip Alexander are both glass artists and have taken a number of classes from lampworking to classes in fused glass and borosilicate glass. They've spent many hours perfecting their skills together and it shows in many of their glass art beads and pendants.

Beaded Jewelry by a Busy Mom - BeaderBubbe

BeaderBubbe on EtsyToday's shop is ran by Agnes, a mother of five and grandmother of six who lives in Brooklyn, NY and is a member of the BESTeam (Boosting Etsy Shops Team) that I am also a member of on Etsy.

Her shop, BeaderBubbe on Etsy, is filled with tons of little baubles and beautiful jewelry that uses gemstones and other beads to create splashes of color for your wardrobe.

Agnes is always busy with work and family and many of her jewelry pieces never make it to her shop because co-workers and family have a habit of snapping them up as soon as they're done!

BeaderBubbe is filled with both classic pieces and others that are a splash of color and unique in design and the combination works! I'm particularly fond of the necklace that's pictured here in this post as well as a butterfly necklace you won't be able to miss when you stop by to check out Agnes' shop.

Bold, Colorful Costume Jewerly in Copper, Fiber and Lampwork

Steufel on EtsyI've had a lot of fun browsing through holiday themed jewelry lately, and when I received my weekly assignment for the BESTeam on Etsy, I was thrilled that the shop I've been assigned has some that I can also share with you!

Steufel on Etsy is a little shop filled with a variety of handmade jewelry that's easy on the eyes and the pocket book. The artist behind the pieces in this shop is inspired by vibrant colors and textiles and loves to incorporate both into their jewelry pieces.

Chunky and bold, these pieces are designed from copper, sari ribbon, vibrant colors and the occasional lampwork beads. The pieces turn out in a variety of fashion trends from whimsical to flirty and are always filled with color.

Not only do they have fun pieces for everyday wear, but their shop also features holiday jewelry like the next ring pictured here and a matching bracelet as well!

YOU CAN CLICK ON THE PICTURE ABOVE TO VISIT STEUFEL ON ETSY AND TAKE A LOOK AROUND OR, IF YOU PREFER, YOU CAN CLICK RIGHT HERE!

You can also visit Steufel on her blog to see more of her work and find the story behind her pieces as well!

Immortalizing Yourself for Future Generations

Oh my god, you will not believe how glad I am to be back! Not just that, but how excited I am to feature today's shop!

Today's shop is a BESTeam
(Boosting Etsy Shops Team) shop, but that isn't even close to why I'm excited. I'm excited because I've been waiting to feature this shop for what feels like forever!

I've wanted to feature this shop since
Conduit Press on Etsythe first time I saw them, but I held back and waited because they're a member of the team so I knew they'd be assigned to me to feature at some point but OH was it ever a long wait!

Conduit Press on Etsy is the shop I'm talking about today. It's a shop filled with some of the most beautiful leather journals!

I'm a big fan of journal writing. I've been writing in journals off and on throughout my entire life. I have journals for daily living. Journals for rants. Journals for poetry, for ideas, for inspirational thoughts. I have a dream journal and a short story journal and even a journal filled with lists!

I love them.

I love opening up a book filled with blank pages, like an entire secret world of possibilities. And I love the idea that some day, when I've passed on, pieces of me will be scattered in these books for my loved ones to thumb through, read and enjoy.

Conduit Press on EtsyIt's a magical thing to have a physical, tactile piece of history you can pass on, especially when it's something as personal as a journal filled with your own words, thoughts, ideas and dreams.

Conduit Press has plenty of different styles of journals and notebooks to choose from too, and they're all beautifully made with a wonderful sense of purpose and style.

Each and every one of Conduit Press' books are handmade with love and care toward both its new owner and the environment, too. And each one is a one-of-a-kind creation. You know you'll not find another one like it when you purchase from this wonderful shop... not even another one like it within the store you bought it from!

Funky Eco-Friendly Jewelry and Accessories

I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July yesterday!

Today I'd like to introduce you to a member of Etsy who is not just a team member in the BESTeam (Boosting Etsy Shops Team) that I've mentioned here on the blog in the past but is also a fellow member of the QESTeam (Queer Etsy Street Team)!

Ellesbeads on EtsyThe Queer Etsy Street Team is a very supportive and wonderful team of sellers who fit into the spectrum of the LGBTQ society (that would be Lesbian Gay Bi Transgenders Queer). Since July is Pride Month, it's my honor to be able to introduce to you one of the members of this team during such an important time of year!

Ellesbeads on Etsy is filled with funky eco-friendly jewelry and accessories including not just Pride Jewelry but also earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, charms, brooches, barrettes, bookmarks, cell charms and more. I'm particularly intrigued by the rings they have for sale. As you can see by the picture in this post, they're very unique!

Everything is colorful and bright and absolutely beautiful, much of which is vintage inspired with a twist and often takes recycled goods as well as donated and discarded items and combines them with beautiful beads to create many of the pieces offered!

Cute Hair Accessories Not Just for Little Girls - Another Post by Leal

Okay, as a guy, I'm not exactly up on girl's fashion trends, but I have to admit that when I opened up this site to take a look at this week's BESTeam feature for our blog? My sister was peeking over my shoulder and she loved these.

She loved them so much that I had to remind her that she has to pay me her part of May's rent before she can buy some. And, even I have to admit... they're very cute.

As a twin to a very femme sister, I've been wrangled into a lot of things most guys don't learn. Like... how to french braid hair, or arrange a french knot or ballet bun. And I have to admit that these little pins would look great for use with those kind of hair styles to add a little color or flair to the look.

The shop where these are found is Poppy Luxe Designs and is ran by Kimberly. Her shop offers both these little hair pin creations as well as magnets and some decoupage designs as well. She has a frame over there that I think is really cool with a bird on a branch scrolled along the bottom.

To check out these items and more, YOU CAN CLICK ON THE PICTURE ABOVE TO VISIT PoppyLuxeDesigns' SHOP ON ETSY AND TAKE A LOOK AROUND OR, IF YOU PREFER, CLICK RIGHT HERE.

[ Don't worry, our fearless heroine (the regular author of this blog) is still out with the flu but she'll be back soon. I'm just (trying) to fill in for the mean time. - Leal ]

Cookalas House of Cards Fashion Jewelry

It's a beautiful Tuesday morning and I'd love to introduce you to a beautiful jewelry shop today that's filled with lots of sparkle and intriguing pieces.

As a member of the BESTeam on Etsy with me and a handful of other artists, this artisan has a lot to share with the handmade community. Her shop is not just beautiful but successful as well and her pieces of jewelry are gorgeous. I'm especially in love with a number of her earrings and have been tempted more than once to snatch up a few pair for myself!

Eileen, the artisan behind CookalasHouseOfCards on Etsy has a great eye for beads and her pieces feature some of the most lovely lampwork and pandora style beads I've laid eyes on. She offers a large selection of fashion jewelry in a wide variety of styles from pandora to lampwork, steampunk to vintage, viking knit, hand forged jewelry and more!

If you're a jewelry connoisseur or a bead lover, this is definitely a shop that you won't want to miss out on taking a browse through.

Searched and Found... and the Taylor House

The Searched and Found BlogToday was supposed to be a feature for the BESTeam, a wonderful team I've mentioned being a member of in the past on Etsy where team members support each other through various means of promotion.

I ran into a little problem tho, because the shop I am to feature is empty at the moment. (And it's a knit/crochet shop too! You all know how much I LOVE knit and crochet shops.)

I would like to mention that although the Taylor House on Etsy is currently closed for the season until cooler weather gets here, you can still take a peek and a browse at some of their sold items to see what they'll have to offer once the fall and winter season rolls around.

Still, closed as they are at the moment, I thought I'd introduce you to the blog founded by Chaucee, the artisan behind the knitted and crocheted pieces from the Tailor House shop on Etsy.

The Searched and Found is a blog that's much like this one, with a wide selection of features outlining different handmade artists and artisans you can find in the handmade market place. Chaucee and Melissa work together to create a variety of articles from Friday Finds collections to Tuesday Tunes features, Giveaways and more.

If you're looking for a little bit more inspiration for your shopping and browsing enjoyment, I definitely suggest stopping by and checking Searched and Found out as a resource.

Those plum drops and the beautiful colors of the swirl beads. The whole combination just draws my eye and makes me salivate.

Absolutely gorgeous.

Today's shop has a lot of gorgeous pieces like these, too! HeadpinWear on Etsy is filled with a terrific collection of beautiful jewelry from earrings to necklaces, bracelets and more.

The shop is organized to find what you want, too! Not just with sections for each type of jewelry they offer but also an "under $20.00" section for those browsing on a budget.

Czech glass shimmers among gemstones and crystals in this wonderful shop with a subtle, earthy feel combined with a touch of elegance.

A Three-for-One Thursday Theme

Fall is finally here!

With tomorrow being the official day that fall begins, in celebration of the Autumnal Equinox (first day of Fall) I thought it would be fun to show off some of the Autumn finds I stumbled across this week.

Pumpkin Orange Powder Puff Dog TutuAutumn is a time of changing leaves and cooler weather, last harvests and... well, we can't forget Halloween, of course! If you have a party to go to or some trick or treating to do and plan on bringing your pup along, you might stop by and check out the doggie tutus over at Turquoise Angels on Etsy.

Pumpkin Orange Powder Puff Dog Tutu - $24.00 USD

I fell in love with this little bottle with eyedropper created by KCDragonfly on Etsy. The pretty Autumn leaves of the hand-beaded bottle collar are a perfect celebration of the Autumn season's colors. This bottle would be perfect for perfume or any elixir and pretty enough to display!

Beaded Memory Bottle with Autumn Leaf Bottle Collar - $12.00 USD

Unakite and Memory Wire Accent BraceletIf you like to accessorize for the season's changes, Unakite gemstones is a beautiful stone to wear for Fall. Here's one created by Beaderbubbe on Etsy that's a combination of rich olive green and shades of salmon pink with a touch of silver tone accents.

Goth and Cosplay Accessories and Handmade Parasols

KCDragonfly on EtsyThe first thing I noticed about today's shop when I stopped by to take a browse around was this gorgeous parasol and after a quick browse, I found a handful more of them as well.

In North America today, parasols are used as fashion statements in many different styles of dress from goth to cosplay, Lolita, Victorian steampunk, wedding fashion and more. When I was little, I had one that was used to protect my skin from the sun because I'm so fair skinned. In today's shop you'll find a variety of these pretty, decorative items that, no matter the purpose you want them for, are sure to make the girl inside smile.

Also in KCDragonfly on Etsy, you can find goth fashion stockings, tarot card pouches and cell phone bags. (In fact, they have one with a dragon fly on it that I'm so in love with!)

There is also a variety of jewelry depicting ankhs, dragonflies, glass beads and more.

Kristine Cherry from Tarzana has a lot of creative interests and a definite flair towards the Gothic fashion and if you enjoy the style of the parasol you see here in this post you're sure to love a browse through her shop!

Uncomplicated, Pure and Simple Handcrafted Soaps

mossycreeksoaps on EtsyAs I think I've mentioned once before on this blog, I have sensitive skin. Not just sensitive skin, but horribly, outrageously and sometimes extremely painful sensitive skin. I can get hives at the drop of a hat and uncomfortable dryness and itchiness within minutes of putting on perfume or using soap that my skin doesn't agree with.

Because of this, I have to be very careful what I use on my skin. For soap, it's a soothing oatmeal soap made with oatmeal and honey... no perfumes. Oatmeal is very soothing for the skin, and honey is a natural antibiotic.

Now, it's a lot lot harder than it seems it would be to find tis basic soap. Most soap makers seem to insist soap needs some kind of fragrance added, but my skin can't handle fragrance.

Today, I think I might have found myself a new soap shop to buy from though and I'd love to share it with all my readers.

mossycreeksoaps on EtsyMossyCreekSoaps on Etsy is a little shop filled with lots of natural, earthy soaps created by a certified handcrafted soap maker, Michelle Rhoades from Warner Robins, Georgia.

In Michelle's shop you can find a large variety of earthy, natural soaps made from scratch with olive and sunflower oils enriched with shea butter. Some are au-natural, with no fragrance at all. Others are deliciously scented with natural essential oils such as lavender, lemongrass, rosemary, spearmint and more.

Each type of soap is carefully cured for over a month and is available not just in her Etsy shop but also on the Mossy Creek Soaps website. There are also gift baskets, body butter and soy candles to browse through.

So if you like to take luxurious baths and love trying out new bath products (or you know someone who does) be sure to stop by. I'm tempted by so many of the soaps that Michelle has to offer that I wish I had more people to buy for!

Unique One of a Kind Jewelry for One of a Kind Women

ElizabethMD on EtsyLike most chainmail, I'm very intrigued by this particular bracelet in today's shop. I can't help it. I don't quite have the patience to design chainmail myself and when I see it in other's work it instantly draws me.

Today's shop is filled with a variety of bits of jewelry to catch the eye, but this is, bar none, my absolute favorite. Not just the chainmail but also the colors incorporated into the piece make it both eye-catching and intriguing.

ElizabethMD on Etsy is ran by a woman fascinated by fashion and holds a degree in Fashion Merchandising to prove it! The designs offered in her shop varies from simple pieces to the more complicated like the one that you see here in this post. And, she's in the process of filling her shop with an even larger variety to choose from.

Jewelry, Wine Charms, Stitch Markers and Hemp

AbsolutelyKismet on EtsyWhether you're looking for some trinkets to accessorize a party or spice up an outfit, today's feature shop is a stop you won't want to breeze by.

AbsolutelyKismet on Etsy is filled with simple, colorful ideas for home and attire.

This shop offers a variety of products from beautiful hemp and beaded jewelry pieces to wine charms for parties and stitch markers for those who crochet or knit.

I'm especially drawn to the wine charms in this shop that are designed with shimmering crystals and .22 bullet casings. I find the design to be both innovative and pretty as well as unique all at the same time!

At the same time, the bracelet pictured above also caught my eye. It has a simple elegance that draws me almost as much as the splashes of vibrant color do!

AbsolutelyKismet on EtsyThe artist behind this shop is from Spearfish, South Dakota where she spends her time crafting and started out in this journey of creativity with making wine charms for family and friends. This grew into a passion for making jewelry as well and she loves designing her pieces with a flair for personal individuality.

AbsolutelyKismet takes custom orders for just this purpose and almost everything in her shop is customizable on request as well. This allows you to put your own personal mark of individuality and taste upon whatever you order if the fancy strikes you to do so.

So whether you're shopping for a bit of fun decor for a party or some decoration to dangle from your ears, neck or wrist... if you love color this is a shop you won't want to miss!

NeoVictorian, Gothic & Steampunk Jewelry and Accessories

PoisonGarden on EtsyToday's shop is one of whimsey and creativity combined with a heavy splash of the romantic with a bit of an edge to it.

Specializing in handcrafted jewelry from Victorian to Neo-Victorian as well as Steampunk, Gothic and Whimsical, the PoisonGarden on Etsy holds a variety of beautiful, stylish delights no jewelry lover will want to miss browsing through.

I personally find this style of jewelry to be very seductive and alluring. In fact, that's why I picked the picture to the right. It emanates that mysterious, provocative quality that I find so intriguing in the creations in this shop!

The Poison Garden is ran by three charmingly eccentric and impressively crafty ladies from Indiana who work together to bring these beautiful creations to the world through their shop on Etsy.

Handmade Items For Cats (and for humans who love them)

AllAboutCats on EtsyIf you're a cat lover, you're going to love today's shop. Many people (myself included) bond with their pets to the point that they become special loved ones and treasured family members. And, like anyone you love, there are times when you just want to spoil those "people" rotten.

This shop is perfect for that. In fact you're sure to find everything you need to delight yourself and your cat both!

AllAboutCats on Etsy is filled with toys and goodies and other fun items that, (you guessed it!), are all about cats!

Linda, the artisan that runs the shop and creates all these wonderful items, loves cats and has three of them herself that she's rescued and recruited into the lap of luxury within her home. In her shop you can find everything from organic catnip toys and kitten toys to bookmarks, coasters, magnets and treats as well as useful accessories and other items. All with a fun loving cat theme about them.

Everything is made in a smoke free home and Linda has lots of assistance from her three cats as well in prototype testing and such.
