Lazy Sunny Mornings

Today, I woke up feeling peaceful and relaxed and I'd forgotten to close my window blinds the night before. What this meant, is that I had a dapple of spring sunlight shimmering through my windows and a little (much welcome) added warmth to go with it.

When I rolled over to look at the
window, I was captivated by the dance of light on the window panes and the flicker and shimmer of sunlight through the leaves of the tree outside. The sunshine made the leaves glow a bright and vibrant green, which spoke to me on a base level about spring growth and new life.

Today's feature artist has a piece in her shop that fits so well into this experience, and you can see it featured right here in this post!

Poppy Glass is a small glass art shop in Etsy that has a beautiful collection of stained glass artwork contained within. Light catchers, lawn ornaments and other beautiful accessories for both yourself and your home are on display, and all the stained glass bits are created and soldered in the dedicated traditions of long ago.

Kay, the talented artist behind Poppy Glass, makes some truly unique and beautiful pieces so be sure to stop by and check her out! You won't want to miss this beautiful shop.

Oh! Oh oh oh! Look at that!!

I got really excited and beyond fascinated the first time I saw work by this particular artist, and I'm thrilled and honored that they agreed to letting me feature them here on my blog.

This artist is a glass worker, and what I saw
is the focal pendant that you can see pictured here in my post. This lovely, softly etched and hand-formed borosilicate glass shell pendant is so beautiful that my mouth dropped open in amazement and I was left speechless.

For those that know me, speechless isn't something that happens all that often so you can understand my excitement.

I'm sure a part of my fascination is the fact that I have a great admiration for those that do lampwork arts and other types of glass work. The other part of my fascination? It has everything to do with my love for beaches and oceans.

Lori Lochner is a full-time studio glass artist, metalsmith and jewelry designer. This piece, like all of Lori's beautiful glass art pieces, is meticulously created and then kiln annealed.
